Ross Patterson
Director of Bands
Ross Patterson is in his 15th year of teaching and his fourth year at Shadow Ridge Middle School. He is the lead teacher for the Shadow Ridge Honor Winds and all beginning brass classes. He previously taught at Burnett Junior High in Wylie, Texas as the Director of Bands for 7 years, as well as Robinson Middle School in Plano, Texas as the Associate Band Director. His ensembles have received consistent Sweepstakes ratings at UIL Concert & Sightreading Contest. Mr. Patterson is an active clinician and adjudicator in Texas and has presented at various band director workshops.
A native of Weatherford, Texas, Mr. Patterson graduated with bachelor’s degrees in music education and music theory from the University of North Texas in 2007 and a master’s degree in music education from Southern Methodist University in 2013. He is a trombonist with the Lone Star Wind Orchestra, directed by Eugene Corporon, and continued his teaching career during graduate study as a private low brass instructor in the Lewisville, Plano, and Richardson Independent School Districts. His professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association and the Texas Bandmasters Association.
In addition to teaching at Shadow Ridge, Mr. Patterson LOVES TRAVEL! He is one of the directors for the Texas Youth Orchestra & Choir, an ensemble of students aged 15-21 that performs concerts internationally. He has traveled four times with TYOC, traveling to the Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, Great Britain, Spain, France, Germany, and the Netherlands.

Adrienne Schuster
Associate Band Director
Adrienne Schuster is currently in her 13th year of teaching and her fourth year as the associate director at Shadow Ridge Middle School. She teaches the Symphonic Band as well as all beginning woodwind classes. Prior to teaching at Shadow Ridge, Ms. Schuster taught at Burnett Junior High in Wylie ISD, at Grand Prairie ISD at Adams Middle School and Reagan Middle School, and Mercedes Junior High School in Mercedes ISD. Ms. Schuster is a saxophonist and performs actively in the DFW area.
Ms. Schuster received her bachelor’s degree in music education from Texas A&M University-Kingsville and a master’s degree in music education from Southern Methodist University. Her professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association and the Texas Bandmasters Association. Ms. Schuster also loves dogs! She has two fur babies, Olympia and Calliope.
