Ross Patterson
Director of Bands
Ross Patterson is in his 17th year of teaching and sixth year at Shadow Ridge Middle School, where he directs the Honor Winds and beginning brass classes. He previously taught at Burnett Junior High in Wylie as Director of Bands and at Robinson Middle School in Plano as Associate Band Director. His ensembles have consistently earned Sweepstakes at UIL Concert & Sightreading Contest, and he is an active clinician and adjudicator across Texas.
A native of Weatherford, Texas, Mr. Patterson earned bachelor’s degrees in music education and music theory from the University of North Texas and a master’s in music education from Southern Methodist University. He performs with the Lone Star Wind Orchestra under Eugene Corporon and has taught low brass privately in several North Texas districts. His professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association and Texas Bandmasters Association.
Outside the classroom, Mr. Patterson LOVES TRAVEL! He is a director for the Texas Youth Orchestra & Choir, an international touring ensemble for students ages 15–21, with past trips to the Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, Great Britain, Spain, France, Germany, and the Netherlands.

Adrienne Schuster
Associate Band Director
Adrienne Schuster is currently in her 15th year of teaching and her sixth year as the associate director at Shadow Ridge Middle School. She teaches the Symphonic Band as well as all beginning woodwind classes. Prior to teaching at Shadow Ridge, Ms. Schuster taught at Burnett Junior High in Wylie ISD, at Grand Prairie ISD at Adams Middle School and Reagan Middle School, and Mercedes Junior High School in Mercedes ISD. Ms. Schuster is a saxophonist and performs actively in the DFW area.

David Gronneberg
Percussion Director
David Gronneberg is the Percussion Director at Flower Mound High School and teaches percussion at McKamy, Forestwood, and Shadow Ridge Middle Schools. From 2008–2019, he served as Director of Percussion for the Grain Valley School District, directing ensembles from middle school through high school. His groups earned national recognition, with the GVHS Percussion Ensemble and Drumline performing at the Music for All National Percussion Festival (2015, 2019), the Missouri Music Educators Convention (2017), and the 90th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade (2016).
Mr. Gronneberg holds a Master’s in Music Education from the University of Central Missouri and a Bachelor’s from Missouri State University. He performed with the Madison Scouts Drum & Bugle Corps and taught Gateway Indoor’s WGI World Class Drumline. He is Past President of the Missouri Chapter of the Percussive Arts Society and an Educational Artist for Innovative Percussion.
